Our Story
Pushing Up Daisies is a bespoke Coaching & Consulting agency based in beautiful North Carolina. Our team is made up of highly skilled End of Life Specialists, who bring decades of experience in guiding individuals through significant life transitions, to the table. We have honed our collective skills and areas of expertise to deliver the highest level of care to both individuals and their loved ones, looking for additional support as they navigate the myriad of challenges and choices that can so often accompany serious illness.
Our mission is simple. To help bring clarity where there is confusion, peace to chaos, and hope to those who are feeling overwhelmed. For those living with a terminal prognosis our caring team of Certified End of Life Doulas will provide invaluable support as they assist you in creating a plan for the road ahead. Years of experience working directly with hospice patients has taught us that there are key elements that help ensure a person has a positive End-of-Life experience and that is our wish for you and/or your loved one too.
During our initial in-depth Discovery Session we will identify not only what you want and need most in your life at this time, but help you identify and overcome obstacles to reaching those goals. With our easy, flex coaching program you can work at a pace that accommodates changing energy levels and schedules.
While many initially seek our services due to a diagnosis, we understand that life's challenges often intertwine. Whether it's coping with divorce, job loss, family estrangement or other hurdles, we are here to provide both practical, emotional & holistic support.

FOUNDERS
Ashley is a Certified Master Coach, Behavioral Analyst
& Neuro Linguistics Practitioner who has been rigorously trained by some of the world's leading peak performance coaches. She is passionate about helping others transform their lives and move beyond the pain that often accompanies major life transitions including divorce, family estrangement., illness and/or death of a loved one.
For over 25 years, she has assisted countless women and children through her global humanitarian programs, and has been the recipient of multiple awards. A deep desire to work with the dying inspired her to make the shift from working in her Coach/Consultancy practice to take up a position in hospice in 2009.
Since that time she has been passionate about improving the quality of life for terminally ill patients and their caregivers. and created a range of programs to support caregivers who are at frequently at risk of burnout.
Ashley has trained hundreds of volunteers to comfort patients during their final hours, and authored the Advanced End Of Life Doula Training- A certification program that has been meticulously crafted from years of experience and training.
Some of her other qualifications include being a registered Hypnotherapist with the American Board of Hypnotherapy, Time Line Therapist and a Facilitator/Trainer with the Kauffman Foundation & TTI. As a Reiki Master, she practices meditation for her own self-care, on a daily basis and loves to spend time with family, good friends and her beloved fur baby, Baylee.

Janice Carter, RN, Transformation Doula
Janice, an RN of over 35 years, has witnessed both ends of the life spectrum; supporting those in the earliest stages of life as a labor and delivery nurse, to comforting hospice patients taking their final breath in her role as a Certified End of Life Doula. The scope of Janice's skillset goes far beyond dealing with her patients.--providing grief counseling and support to family members throughout her career.
Over the course of her career she has held multiple senior management positions within the healthcare system and earned the designation of Legal Nurse Consultant. As a result, she was often requested to provide her expert opinion on multiple legal cases. In 1996, she founded a successful training company that provided additional training for hundreds of nurses around legal and ethical issues.
As a Certified Critical Incident Counselor, Janice worked directly with first responders who experienced trauma, providing support and debriefing services. She remains a member of the Navy Medical Reserves, and is passionate about supporting our veterans.
She has obtained multiple qualifications in complementary fields including Hypnotherapy, Massage, N,L.P. and is a Certified Reiki Master. From medical missions in the Appalachians, to comforting those grieving the loss of a loved one, her compassion shines through. She is a professional who doesn’t just talk the talk—she walks the walk and is in the trenches doing whatever it takes to get the job done. She is a teacher and healer at heart and the lives she has touched and transformed as a direct result of her wisdom is immeasurable.
